Tasting
Notes
The perfect medium bodied, juicy, red wine.
Grown on the undulating slopes around Moonambel in the Pyrenees, the Sangiovese fruit undergoes simple open top fermentation with light tannin extraction to maximise vibrant fruit characters. Matured in old French oak hogsheads for 6 months, the 2021 Sangiovese displays fresh and spicy black cherry fruit and savoury dark chocolate for which the variety is famous. Great drinking now & over the next 5 years. John Harris – Winemaker

Crushed, destemmed, fermented wild. Matured 5 months in aged French hogsheads. Sangiovese enjoys its new home in the Pyrenees, that much is obvious from this release. Plenty of enticing red cherry, wild raspberry, fennel seed, aniseed and dried herbs on show. The latter bring a Mediterranean feel to the palate which is crunchy, clean and cherry-pip dry. 92 Points
