Tasting
Notes
Fermented with 25% whole bunches
From the Wightwick vineyard at Invermay in Ballarat. Ripe and bright bouquet of dark red cherry and blood plum fruits. A hint of stemmy spice and crunch, medium bodied with lingering earthy mushroom and sweet spices. Gently handled with 25% whole bunches and wild yeast fermentation. Matured in new and old French oak hogsheads and barriques. The bright and juicy dark red fruit notes and flavours reflect the cool 2022 vintage.

On the 2021 vintage: Hand-picked fruit, 25% whole bunches, fermented wild. Matured 8 months in French oak (20% new). You know when a wine is good, it has presence. This '21 pinot has it, from the lifted freshness of florals, red cherries, cranberries, earthy beetroot and whole-bunch herbals, to the cut and thrust of sapid, fine tannins and flash of dark chocolate and smoky oak to close. It's a ripper. 95 Points - Gold
