Notes

Our new, fresh, crisp and racy white for the sunny months ahead.

From a small, minimal intervention vineyard located off the beaten track to the north of Moonambel, this, our first Chenin Blanc, was whole bunch pressed and underwent fermentation and maturation on lees in stainless steel tank. Unlike all of our other white, red and sparkling wines that spend anywhere from 6 to 18 months in oak, we wanted to create a dry, crisp and crunchy style as our debut release with this variety. Think fresh crisp nashi and green apple fruit with subtle smokey struck match notes and a chalky minerally finish. Refreshment factor is high! Great drinking now & over the next 2-3 years. Natural fermentation on lees in both tank and barrels. A bit of a rarity in Victoria, let alone the Pyrenees, chenin blanc shows its potential in this attractive wine. Brings the grape's springtime florals, apple blossom and honeysuckle together with spiced apple, a touch of ginger and almond skin. It's a busy, lightly textural wine nicely grounded in brisk, bright acidity. Could take some time in the cellar.
