Bursting with chocolate, mint and black currants.
“Hand-picked fruit from Moonambel, fermented naturally with 10% whole bunches. Matured in new and old French oak hogsheads for 15 months. So underrated, Pyrenees cabernet can be a welcome break from the region’s emphasis on shiraz. Here, it sits ripe and concentrated but also quite graceful. Lashings of wild blackberries, dark cherry, dried herbs, earth and chocolate unfurl with a sweet, spicy presence against a firm tannin background. Good balance and impressive length.“

Medium-weight in the glass. Aromas of tapenade, ironstone, blackberries and mint. Brooding and deeply-cored. Whole-bunch spice weaves its way through it, tannins are integrated though impossible to ignore. Excellent value here. 93 Points
