Blanc #1
Inspired by the French vin de liqueurs and mistelle de raisins, this is a blend of equal parts 2014 and 2010 Sauvignon Blanc that was fortified half way through fermentation and matured in old French oak until early 2020. Has approx 80+ g/L residual sugar & approx 18.5% ABV. Drink now, on its own or with ice and soda or your favourite white spirit or keep to watch the spirit and fruit transform into something even more complex & intriguing.

The winemaker says this is a style that has been 20 years in the dreaming and 5 years in the making. In the 2020 vintage the dream became real. A mistelle-style fortified sauvignon blanc from the Pyrenees, matured in tight-grain French oak. Brilliant mid gold colour. Light savoury scent of spiced apple, grapefruit, herbals and oyster shell brine. There's a 'wow' moment once it hits the palate, with a totally unexpected and delightfully rich, honeyed, nutty complexity with toasted almonds, nougat, dried fruits. Seriously exciting. 93 Points - Silver
